Board Unanimously Approves the Golf Course

Irrigation Modernization Plan

The Board conducted a Special meeting Thursday to take action on the Golf Course Irrigation Modernization (GCIM) project. The subject was introduced by GM Ziegler who reviewed the entire proposal, the process used to select the contractor and a source for funding. The Financial Affairs Committee unanimously endorsed the GCIM project, the hiring of National Turf Inc. of Cave Creek as contractor, a total project cost of $566,373 and the use of Replacement Reserve Funds specifically designated for irrigation to pay for the project.

The Board recognized the volunteers who worked on the Golf Course Master Plan for a year and a half alongside Staff and in conjunction with a professional golf course architect and an irrigation specialist. Through all of those efforts the project was brought to a vote and the Board unanimously approved the GCIM and authorized staff to enter into a contract with National Turf to commence work approximately June 1st and with a completion date no later than August 31, 2012.
